Hail Caesar basing

#1

Chris has mentioned a desire to change base sizes and I am inclined to agree as only one stand represents a unit, rather than the three for  Warmaster and that only a few units are needed for a game unlike black powder games.

After some thought he has suggested the larger sizes and I've agreed (after all he is my only opponents) and TBH I liked the idea of giving my men more elbow room and having a chance of making the stands little diorama.

So 80mm x 40mm is the new Standard but;

Chris' suggestion
Standard units:
Infantry 80 x 40
Cavalry  80 x 50

Small units are half the size so:
Infantry 40 x 40
Cavalry  40 x 50. Deeper depth than frontage.

Tiny units, I'll admit I don't have any so no consideration at this time, would possibly reduce depth of small units or make them 1/3rd of standard size.

Note:
In any case the rules are flexible to allow for different basing size of individual players (clubs).

Command bases.

I've decided to follow Chris' lead and have round bases and in line with the larger size I'm putting Generals on 40mm bases and the CIC on a 50mm base.

All the 6mm Romans are now on their new bases, sanding, painting, dry brush and flock and we are done. Will post here when finished.
